It was supposed to be the euphoric climax of a three-day festival celebrating country music. Music fans of all ages had flooded the grounds opposite the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip to enjoy the sold-out show.
But the concert was violently interrupted when a gunman carried out the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. At least 58 people were killed and more than 500 injured.
